Ava Rooms

Just right.

We were really comfortable here. The place was spotless and in an excellent location. They even left us two little bottles of champagne and two glasses for New Year's Eve, and topped up the condensed milk, coffee sachets, and herbal teas each day. A lovely touch.

The one thing in its favor is the location. We got no rest and won't come back or recommend it. Our mattresses were so misshapen that we kept rolling to one side, and although our room had a private bathroom, the shared one was right next door. At night we could hear everything when people used it, including the door opening and closing, so sleeping was impossible. The cleaning staff's room was also beside ours. From 7:00 AM they were in and out, slamming doors and making noise with mop buckets and pillows. Also, there's an elevator, but after getting out you still have to climb 20 steps to reach the hostel.

We spent 4 nights here and had a great stay. The soundproofing against outside noise worked really well, and the room was comfortable and very clean, with a nice bathroom. It also had a minibar, microwave, and kettle. Each day they brought a tray with coffee and tea sachets, sugar, saccharin, and milk. The location is right on Fuencarral Street, 2 minutes from Gran Via. The metro is a 3-minute walk away, and Retiro Park, Puerta del Sol, the Royal Palace, Puerta de Alcalá, and Cibeles are all less than 30 minutes away.
