Hotel Claridge Madrid

The rooms were very clean and well cared for, and the hotel building itself is beautiful. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good range of options. The service was much less appealing: reception staff were unfriendly, especially one man with a small mustache who was particularly unhelpful and unpleasant. In the dining area, waiters sometimes didn’t listen to what we asked for, which was frustrating, and the food quality was poor. Better service and food would make the stay much more enjoyable.

There’s not much special about the location, and the hotel itself is just OK. The lobby looks nice, but the rooms are small, somewhat dated, and have very few amenities. The lights aren’t centralized, so you have to walk around switching them off one at a time when you’re in bed. During our stay, the whole hotel had a water outage, so we couldn’t get a drink or take a shower. The hotel hadn’t informed us. When we called, they said there was nothing to worry about because the entire hotel was without water.

The rooms were refurbished a year ago and look great. We noticed engineering works outside, but heard no noise on the first floor. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Thanks to everyone, see you next year.

The hotel’s interior is beautiful, and we had a lovely stay. Some may find it a bit far from the city center, but that didn’t bother us since the restaurant was amazing. There’s underground parking, a nice pool area, and a wonderful breakfast with freshly squeezed juice. The staff were friendly, the bed comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure. The four stars are well deserved. Thanks for a nice stay ❤️
