The room was roomy but rather dusty, and my friend and I kept having allergic reactions while we were there. My main complaint was how the toilet and washbasin were separated. Breakfast was good, especially the range of fruit, and the buffet staff were lovely. The lunch menu was a real bargain and tasted great. Staff in general were always friendly and helpful. The hotel is a little far from the museums, though bus stops and metro stations are close.

I didn’t expect much after seeing the photos and reviews on booking.com, but Room 404 was gorgeous and put a smile on our faces as soon as we walked in. Amelie and the other relaxing themes, with their smooth, pleasant colours, made it feel perfect for a family. The room was big, the corridors were broad, and everything was pristine clean. We had a full bathroom with a bathtub, gowns and slippers, and a very comfortable king or UK super king sized mattress. My two year old was over the moon. The staff were extremely friendly and professional, and the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. Room service was great too. We got complimentary popcorn and little bottles of water. The location was perfect, close to the airport, Salamanca district, and town centre, in a safe, lovely neighbourhood. The price was reasonable as well. I’ll come back for a longer stay. Honestly, plenty of much more expensive hotels could learn from this hidden gem in Madrid. DORMIRDCINE, thank you for making us happy in such a simple, beautiful way. The one thing I missed was a kettle in the room. Believe me, it looks even better in person than in any photo I could upload. 👍🏻
