The location is the big draw: most sights, including the popular museums, plus restaurants, shops, and supermarkets are within walking distance. There’s also an elevator, which is especially useful in an old building. The rooms are sparse and small, basically a single bed, bedside table, little table, and a tiny shower with very few amenities. Check the arrival arrangements ahead of time, since the main entrance is locked and reception is often unattended. If you’re okay with a cramped room in exchange for being central, Hostal Edreira is a reasonable choice.

The room had what I needed, and it was cleaned every day, with fresh sheets daily too. Hostal Edreira felt secure, and the access codes worked every time. Staff were helpful and professional. I was impressed by how clean and well cared for everything was, and the price felt very good for a spot so close to shops, restaurants, and the main attractions. I had a wonderful stay and would come back. Highly recommended.

The decor feels a bit dated, but the place was really comfortable and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. It’s in a great location, and I didn’t hear street noise from my room. I loved staying here.

We only stayed one night, and it was just right. The room was a good size and very clean, and the staff were helpful enough to store our luggage until 4.00pm. There are loads of breakfast options within about 50 metres. It’s very handy for both the train station and the things you’ll want to see in town, and good value at this price.

There are several breakfast cafés and a supermarket close by, and the museums and central station are walkable. The Metro station is nearby too, so getting around is convenient. Our room was spacious, and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I’ll come back to Hostal Edreira next time I’m in Madrid.
