Eurostars Plaza Mayor Hotel

There are lots of bars and restaurants around, and the hotel and rooms are nice with good service. It's right in the center, though the street outside is often dirty. That's not really the hotel's fault, but it still takes away from the experience.

At an average of 346,95 euros a night, this was far too expensive for what we got. The staff did their best, but management left us deeply disappointed: we sent two messages through the official contact page and another through the site's AI chat, and never heard back. Booking took a minute; getting a reply was impossible. We booked four nights based on the website photos, but the so-called panoramic view was just houses opposite. The bar never opened during our four days, and the bathroom looked like it was from 2000. There was no toilet brush, and the toilet paper holder was broken. Calling this four-star is a stretch, three stars at most, and that's being generous. The website doesn't reflect reality. Don't go, there are better deals in Central Madrid.

At €400 a night, this was a disappointing stay. We had payment issues that needed direct follow-up, and nobody warned us that construction had made the street inaccessible by car. We had to carry our luggage through a muddy, dusty work zone. Reception was empty for several minutes when we arrived. The small room had very few amenities: the “mini-bar” was three soft drinks, there was no gym or bar, and an iron was only available on request. The lobby wasn't impressive either. This doesn't meet four-star standards or justify the price.

We paid 250 eur per night for a supposed four-star hotel, but our room wasn't cleaned even though we'd left the “please clean my room” card on the outside handle. That's not acceptable.
