Sonder Santa Ana

Sonder was extremely responsive whenever I needed anything, and correspondence was great. I was traveling alone, but the room could comfortably sleep two. It was clean and comfortable, with a wonderful bed, hot showers, and an electric kettle for tea each day. There's an elevator, handy with luggage, and a square close by. The last photo shows the entrance from the street. Sol station is nearby, and Uber to and from the airport was reasonably priced. You can walk about 15 minutes in any direction and reach everything.

The location is spot on and can't be beaten. The apartments are great, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Just remember the lift is tiny and only goes to the fifth floor if you're on the sixth. 😮‍💨

We booked three nights at Sonder Santa Ana but left first thing the next morning. The AC was flashing a warning that its filter needed replacing. Sonder later tried to downplay the issues, but the condition of the apartment left us feeling unsafe and ignored. The place looked decent online, yet in person it was shockingly neglected and poorly maintained. There were stains on the walls and in the shower, plus something that looked like blood on the bathroom door frame. It felt dirty and disturbing to stay there. Communication was the worst part. While jetlagged, we spent hours on the phone being sent back and forth between Marriott and Sonder, with each telling us to call the other. Nobody took responsibility. It was exhausting and infuriating when all we needed was some rest. Don't stay here. The photos are misleading, the unit is in bad shape, and support is nonexistent.

I had a fantastic ten days at Sonder Santa Ana, right in the middle of Madrid with shops, restaurants, and the metro close by. Just be aware it's a very busy nightlife spot, so it can be noisy until around 6 am. The earplugs they supplied worked like a charm. I'd absolutely stay again.
