Fun Sleep

It’s a fairly small hostel but has everything you need, including breakfast. Breakfast wasn’t much, but for what you pay it feels like a luxury. The rooms and toilets were clean. Our room had no window, just a little vent-window behind a curtain. A very friendly woman greeted us and tried to explain things in quite limited English. She said she was learning slowly, which I thought was really positive. I’m really enjoying my time in Madrid!

It felt like sharing an apartment, with two bathrooms, a kitchen guests could use, a big dining table and a room with sofas. The WiFi worked well, and the hosts were friendly. I only stayed one night and slept well in the middle room, which had no windows. It was okay for that night, but I imagine it could get very hot, especially in summer. There was no personal light, plug or locker like you’d find in a hostel.

The key to the hostel door is really difficult to work. Both days, after I struggled with it for a couple of minutes, someone else opened the door for me. The place feels homey and cozy, and being right in the city center is super convenient. The daytime host doesn’t speak English, but gestures worked, and another staff member translated for us.

I really enjoyed staying here. The room and bathrooms were clean, my sheets smelled nice, and I even got two pillows. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to in English. A private locker with my own code cost €1, and breakfast was simple, just as I’d expected. Thanks, guys, all the best. When I’m in Madrit next time, I’ll check this place first. Location and service both get 5/5.
