The staff were friendly, and the location is right in central Madrid. It’s an affordable, basic hostel, so the rooms and shared areas are pretty simple, but the rooms do have mini-fridges. The kitchen is tiny, though it’s enough for breakfast or a quick meal. You’ll probably eat out while visiting Madrid anyway. The main hassle was the busy bathroom, where you sometimes have to wait.

Not having a set check-in time was a plus, and the room itself was pleasant and practical. It was spacious, with two balconies, one facing San Bernardo and the other blocked by the bed. The beds and mattress were comfortable. There was a small kitchen with everything needed, though it was very cramped. The building smelled bad, especially in the stairwell. Staff were pleasant, but we only saw them at check-in. The room was clean but not spotless, and we found some valuable belongings that belonged to someone else. At night it was noisy and bright. Only one bulb in the room lamp worked. There’s no minibar, just a freezer, not a refrigerator. The shared bathroom was quite dirty, its screen was broken, and there were some bugs.

There was a big clump of women's hair in the sink, along with toothpaste residue, so it looked like the place hadn’t been cleaned. The rooms were worn down and the duvets were all messed up. You can’t get into your room before 3 PM, then checkout is at noon. Terrible experience. Never again, and I wouldn’t recommend it. You can find better for the same price.
