The location was good and the staff were helpful, and the WiFi and shower worked well. But the beds were extremely uncomfortable, with a thin pillow, and it was very noisy. The doors made such a racket that anyone entering or leaving their room woke you up. Several things weren't working properly: the locker, its replacement, and the shutters.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the place was spotless and well equipped. It's very central, close to the metro, with lots of bars and coffee shops and a couple of small supermarkets nearby. A great find. There's free WiFi and a tea tray too, plus a really good mattress and pillows. Just be aware there's no lift, so it may not suit you if you're travelling with 20 pieces of luggage.

The staff made the stay for us. One of them even offered to carry our bags up and down all those stairs, and the service was genuinely great. We had three single beds in a snug room, but they were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The Wi-Fi was really fast too. I’d recommend this hostal and hope they keep treating guests so well.

The staff knew the city well and were incredibly helpful, and the beds were comfortable. The washrooms were spotless too. I did miss having basic kitchen facilities, though there’s a well-stocked grocery store right next door with plenty of cheap, tasty Spanish food. The tap water is drinkable but has an odd taste, and the hostel doesn’t provide bottled water, so I’d pick up a 2L bottle there for 0.36€. And don’t skip churros for breakfast! The wi-fi was probably the fastest I’ve ever had in Spain.

For the price, I was happy with my stay. I was mostly there to sleep, and the room worked for that, though if you want more amenities or options, this may not suit you. The double room was even smaller than a studio apartment, and the restroom felt cramped with two people. Bring an extension port because there aren’t enough places to plug in devices. There was no breakfast when we stayed, but several places downstairs serve it, and there’s a small grocery store nearby for supplies. The B&B/hostel is quaint and close to major shops, a subway station, and Gran Via. From Madrid’s main station, take the blue line to punta del sol, then the red line to Novicidad, and walk a short way from the station.
