The location is excellent, but it doesn't make up for how hard it was to sleep. Floors creak throughout the building, from the corridors to every room, and the walls are thin. One of the worst places I've stayed.

We only stayed one night, but were really pleased with the value and how clean the rooms were. The woman at reception was lovely and friendly. She helped us book tickets and told us about the city and the free bus to atocha train station. We'd pick hostal avenida again if we visit madrid soon. ty 😊😊

A little gem, and great value. We arrived late, but the concierge was very helpful, gave us the key, and showed us to our spotless twin room. The shower was good and there was a cute little balcony overlooking gran via. It's very central, with the metro, free bus, and a supermarket all an easy walk away. Nicola and her son were especially welcoming and helpful. We're on the last night of our three-night stay.

The price is good for a location that's hard to beat, and the staff were really friendly.

The rooms are small but nice. We're on the 4th floor, and there is an elevator. Great location on the Grand via.
