Hostal El Catalán

We booked a three-bed room for three adults and were happy with the amount of space. Towels and hand soap were supplied, though other toiletries weren’t. It can be noisy because of the location, but using earbuds at night solved that for us. Check-out at 12 o’clock was generous, and they were happy to keep our luggage until 23.00. The room service staff were great, very patient, and checked more than once to see when we’d be heading out so they could clean. They refreshed the towels daily, which we really appreciated. Reception staff were friendly too. The price was low, the location was great, and we could walk to the main attractions and several metro and bus stops. We had a great experience and would recommend it.

The owners were suuuuuper nice, and the location was perfect. Such a great experience!

The owners are a lovely couple who make you feel welcome, almost like you’re visiting friends. They take real care of the rooms, which were spotless, with fresh linens and towels each day. It’s a clean, comfortable, affordable place in central Madrid, and there are lots of cafés, restaurants, and bars just a short walk away. There’s no restaurant or meals at the property, and the entrance is pretty unassuming, but the hospitality and cleanliness more than made up for that. The rooms are well kept with basic amenities, and the Wi-Fi was reliable and free. The atmosphere is warm, and it’s a nice place to meet other travelers. Many popular sights are within walking distance too. If you’re after a welcoming and affordable stay in Madrid, I’d recommend Hostal El Catalan.

The rooms were always fresh and clean, and everything is close by. The hosts are lovely and ready to help with any questions. My flight was delayed, so I arrived at 3am, even though check-in ends at 11pm. The host waited for me and let me check in late. I’d definitely recommend the place.
