The view was nice, and the staff were friendly. But the room air and the upper stairwell smelled bad, like toilet pipes. It wasn't clean, the washbasin was blocked, and the entrance and stairwell were disgusting. Way too expensive for this quality.

The white rooms with twin beds felt like a hospital ward. The elevator was broken, but there was no notice, so people would wait around for five minutes before giving up and taking the stairs up eight floors, or finding the other elevator that goes into areas marked Private. The Wi-Fi wasn't working, which was a first for me in a Spanish hotel. The Gran Via construction project was going on at the time, in 2018-19.

The beds were really comfortable and it's a great place to stay. There was a lot of noise from the rooftop bar, though. I wouldn't recommend going there, since it can take an hour to get a drink. It's a great bar if you happen to go when nobody else is there!

The room had a nice view of the city, and the view from sky44 on the top roof, where breakfast is served, was nice too. The location was perfect, and reception staff were helpful.
