Hostal Loyola - Hostel

You’ll have three flights of stairs to climb, with no elevator. The place is really central, just off Gran Via, with easy access to major shopping and historical, archaeological, and cultural sites, events, and places. It can get very noisy at night, so bring earphones or earplugs. We had a fan, clean towels, and fresh linen every second day. Very clean overall; a few spots could use repainting, but nothing major.

For a low-priced room in the centre, this is a great place, with a very clean room and bathroom. They also provide a towel and shower gel. But if you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping, I wouldn’t suggest it. You can hear plenty from outside at night and from guests coming back, and the walls seem paper-thin, so you can hear whispers from everywhere.

The rooms were perfectly clean, service was good, and the prices more than fair. You can’t ask for much more at this best-possible Madrid location. I really enjoyed it and will definitely come back next time I’m in Madrid.

Near the centre, with bars and restaurants close by. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was cleaned every day. Very clean, and I’d highly recommend it. Just be aware it’s on the third floor, so you need to be reasonably fit ☺
