Hostal Naranjos I

We liked how clean, affordable, and comfortable the hotel was, especially for such a central location. But the walls are incredibly thin, so you can hear the neighbors if they aren’t quiet. At 3 a.m., mariachi music woke us up and kept blaring. There was no staff around at night, and banging on the door got no response. Eventually we tried our own key, hoping they’d think management had come to ask them to turn it off. To our surprise, it opened the door. They were sleeping like babies, so we unplugged their TV and that solved it.

The rooms were clean, but ours was cramped and noisy, with a broken shower door. After we complained, the manager moved us to another room, which was lucky. The walls are so thin you can hear everything.

The toilet smelled bad, like it hadn’t been cleaned, and the lights never worked. The concierge didn’t speak English, which made things difficult. For what I paid, it was a poor experience, and I’d give it 2 stars at most, maybe less.

The rooms, corridors, and elevator are very small, which is the one downside. Still, the location is great, and I’d strongly recommend it for the price compared with the quality.
