Hostal Rincón de Sol - Centro Madrid - Self Checkin

We only needed one night before our flight connection the next morning, and booking through hotels.com turned out to be a good choice. The room was big enough for me, my wife, and our three kids. The host was helpful, arranged our taxi back to the airport, and pointed us toward places to eat. It's a clean, nice hostel with excellent service in the best location in Madrid. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Madrid.

As a solo traveler, I really appreciated the kind staff. They checked in about what I needed and made me feel at home. The place is basic, with simple rooms and thin walls, but it was clean, including the bathroom. The main reason I liked staying here was the location: most big tourist attractions are only 5-10 minutes away.

There's no kitchen or refrigerator, so we had to eat every meal out. I felt that kind of defeats the point of staying in a hostal, though I guess it was my mistake since a kitchen wasn't advertised. The bathroom was inside the room, which was great. The place is very close to Gran Via and a Metro station, and easy to get to. They could add another bed to fit three people.
