The location is incredible, and our room was VERY CLEAN with a really comfortable bed. We had two balconies and great views, and the streets weren’t too loud at the moment. The toilet is quite small, so it could be tricky for some people. I did miss having a mirror in the room, some drinking glasses and maybe cutlery. I’d definitely stay again.

The hostal owner was the highlight for me. She was so warm and helpful, and made us feel the Spanish hospitality. The place was clean and decent, and the location is spot on, just a few minutes on foot from Sol station and Plaza Mayor. Well worth the money, and I’d highly recommend it for a Madrid stay.

We were welcomed when we checked in and didn’t see anyone after that, but it was fine. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though a little small, as you’d expect. Being so central can mean some noise at night. I’d definitely stay again.

This was my second time at Hostel Santa Cruz, and I’ll come back again. The rooms are always very clean, and we get a friendly welcome. There are lots of inviting shops and bars nearby, plus great tapas and welcoming restaurants. I’ll be back at some point.

The staff were really friendly, and our room was clean, with the bathroom stocked with the basics. Towels were changed and the room cleaned daily. The hostel is handy for public transport and close to the attractions, with Plaza del Sol nearby. We had a wonderful stay and I hope to come back. Recommended!
