Hostal Vázquez de Mella

Breakfast was delicious, though it was served at another hotel, and we paid extra for it. The price here is unbeatable, and the location was perfect for our short visit: we could walk everywhere, which mattered with only a day and a half in Madrid. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. I last visited in November 2025 with a group, and everyone was happy. I've stayed at the hostal several times and it keeps getting better. The staff are incredibly helpful and professional. Huge thanks to Krisztina Janovics, who's always helped me with bookings and suggestions. Can't wait to return, and I highly recommend the place.

The rooms are basic, but very good, and the location and value are fantastic. I left my watch behind, and the staff were very helpful when I contacted them about getting it back.

The reservation says there's no prepayment and that payment will be taken at the property. But they tried to charge my card straight away, then threatened to cancel the room if I didn't pay. Starting out by trying to mislead customers with tricks like that makes me wonder what they'd do during the stay.

It's a quiet, calm place even though it's very close to Gran Vía. Our room was clean and perfectly adequate, with comfortable beds, and it was cleaned daily. The staff are lovely, helpful, and kind, and they replied to my emails almost immediately. Krisztina at reception was especially nice. Booking was smooth, and the prices were very favorable. Contact and pay the accommodation directly. We'll definitely stay with them again next time we're in Madrid. I absolutely recommend it!
