Mola! Suites

We booked three nights, with one bed in a mixed room and another in a women’s room, but both beds were put in a mixed room. When I asked whether my sister could move to a women’s room, the receptionist said it would cost an extra 20 euros. I agreed, then he realized there wasn’t a bed available after all. We left and asked for a refund. They said they’d speak to the manager and get back to us, but two weeks passed with no reply. The receptionist treated us terribly and showed no respect or willingness to help. The lockers weren’t working either, and the place felt completely unsafe. Towels and clothes had been left on the radiator in the room, which smelled awful and very damp. This is the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. I’m sure they pay for their reviews.

The location was amazing, and the people made the stay. Soraya was so kind and helpful with recommendations and things to do. The rooms and beds were great too. 10/10!

We had a spacious, clean apartment at the top of the building, which was a pleasant surprise after seeing the rough lobby and corridors. The location was great for walking around Madrid’s squares in the evening, with plenty of cafes and bars easy to reach. The basement lockers were a letdown. They wouldn’t take cards or coins, and with the old coin mechanism the money just fell straight through. The corridors were noisy at night, so signs asking guests to keep quiet would help.

The hostel has a lively, welcoming feel, with board games and pub crawls bringing travelers together. It was clean, in a fantastic location, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile. The only thing that brought the stay down was the brown-haired breakfast waitress. She was disrespectful and rude, which took away from what would otherwise have been a five-star experience.
