I was stuck at this hotel for about three weeks on a business trip, and couldn't change the booking because my company had paid in advance. The reception staff did their jobs properly, which was the one positive. The rooms weren't cleaned well, there was no sound insulation, and one of the two elevators was out of service for all three weeks. The remaining lift also carried hotel staff using it as a service elevator, so getting to my room meant a long wait.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed in. The location may be its strongest point if it suits you, but resting is impossible. The nightlife makes the street noisy, and inside you can hear every footstep and water running through the pipes because the walls are so bad. Awful.

The room, beds and towels were clean, and the area is handy, about a 10-minute walk from the metro with attractions easy to reach. The hotel itself is average. There's a gap in the shower glass that means water always gets onto the floor. You end up laying the foot towel over the puddle until housekeeping comes, and the bathroom smells a bit moldy even after it's cleaned. Breakfast was average too.

The location is good, and the staff are great, friendly and ready to help. The hotel itself feels below par and outdated, though. The room fixtures are old, and you can hear through the thin walls between rooms. I wouldn't call it a three-star hotel, more like two stars. One day the hot water didn't come back until late evening, which was really disappointing.

In the prestigious Salamanca district, this hotel feels semi-luxurious and has a very good standard. It is expensive, though. Madrid hotels should usually be around €100, give or take €5, but this one was over €150.
