NYX Hotel Madrid by Leonardo Hotels

After a long train ride from Bilbao to Madrid, we felt well rested even though we'd only stayed one night. The room was very large, even for 3 of us, and had 2 nice verandas with a good city view. It was also very close to El Corte Inglés, a very nice shopping facility. We had a great view, and a very good cake was waiting for us when we arrived, since my birthday had been the previous day.

The vegan options at the hotel reception were better than I expected, considering Spain isn't that vegan-friendly in general. Thanks for providing soy milk and oat milk. It'd be nice to have some other plant based proteins available too. The hotel was nice, the room cozy, and the internet worked fine in my room.

Very nice, welcoming staff, and I appreciated the free candy bar and apples 🍏. The room was large, with a comfortable, well-equipped bathroom, including a dental kit 🦷, plus a coffee machine in the room. It was a pleasant stay in a good neighborhood with a shopping center, restaurants and coffee shops nearby. By taxi, it's around 20 minutes to the city center.

This was my third visit, and I won't be back. The service has noticeably gone downhill, and customers feel it. Reception was unfriendly and unprofessional. Only one person was kind; when I finally spoke with them, they said there'd been changes at the hotel and that a short, rude receptionist was being "protected." That wasn't the exact word, but I don't know how else to describe it. The water was awful, and the bar staff were always on their phones or talking among themselves. Not recommended.
