Giant stars carry Nativity scenes in place of the angels, and arches, lampposts, and facades across the city center are lit up. On November 28, 2025, the switch-on in Málaga drew thousands to the pedestrian street for the premiere of “Nativity of Light.” We were all amazed by the color and sound. It’s lovely for photos and has a family-friendly feel. Some people mention the crowds, but the synchronized show makes up for it. The lights run until January 6, from 6:30 pm to midnight, or until 2:00 am on weekends. Get there early for a good spot, and you can pair it with a visit to Alameda Principal. It’s easy to reach from Benalmádena on the C1 train.

You’ll find all the top-brand stores along Malaga’s main street. It always feels festive, especially around Christmas. The city celebrates a major fair in August, when the streets fill with women in traditional dress, flamenco music, dancing and singing. There are also splendid stalls serving typical dishes and selling regional products. Malaga is celebrating today.

In the evening, the golden light gives the facades a lovely glow, and it makes you want to linger at each corner. Walking along Calle Marqués de Larios, I felt right in the lively heart of Málaga. The elegant architecture, shops, cafes, and people out on foot all add to the pleasant city atmosphere.
