The check-in was simple, the room stayed cool with the air-conditioning, and the water was nice and warm. It was clean and quiet, with a little cafe right next door, and everything was well priced. It's a little out of the way, but the bus stop is two minutes away and the ride to malaga centro takes about 25 minutes. All good, I'd stay again.

The rooms are very basic, with cheap mattresses and no hooks. There were only three small bags of soap, though the receptionist was really helpful, gave us plenty of information, and supplied lots of soap.

For nearly 80 euros a night, I expected more. The room was small, there was no fridge to keep food or drinks cold, and having to buy everything outside the hostal was a real pain. We couldn't even get a wine opener when we asked. As a couple, we had just one pillow and one very small blanket. The walls offered no isolation, so I could hear my neighbour rolling over in bed, and the wi-fi was awful. It wasn't a terrible place, but for that price, it wasn't good enough in my opinion.

The staff were helpful, but the small room reeked of cigarette smoke. I only stayed one night and could still smell it for days afterward.
