The communication from the host was dreadful, and we didn’t get a single penny back. They kept ignoring our messages about resolving the problems after check-out. They’d talked us into waiting until after check-out to sort things out, but we hadn’t realized that meant having little to no protection from AirBnB afterward. They told us this on a phone call, not in a message, so we have no proof. It felt like they planned from start to finish to avoid responsibility. Avoid iloftmalaga if you don’t want a horrific experience. The apartment looked very different from the online photos, and much smaller in person. The sofas, curtains, and bed covers were dirty, and the floors didn’t have the checked pattern shown in the pictures. After an exhausting flight, we walked into our room and found a huge mattress left in the middle of the living room. The sofa bed was broken and a complete mess. Staff said they’d try fixing it the next day, but didn’t explain how the apartment had been left like that. They couldn’t fix it, and the sofa bed was still a mess, with springs sticking out at the top. There was no soundproofing in the walls. In the bedroom with two single beds, we could hear everything the neighbors did, including the videos they were listening to. The amenities were stingy too: two mini bottles of shampoo and shower gel weren’t enough even for one shower. They advertised salt, pepper, and oil, but none was provided.

Our dream vacation was ruined, and no amount of money can make up for it. We paid almost 500 euros for two nights, enough for a much better stay at a 4-star hotel. Don’t book this place! The photos online were highly misleading, and when we arrived, we were told the actual address was behind the one shown. The street-facing pictures didn’t match reality. Our living room window looked onto a parking garage less than 10 meters away, and the room was very dim. After checking in, we found the shower, the so-called bathtub, and the washbasin broken. The basin had come loose from the wall. The dining chairs, TV stand, and dishwasher were broken too. The pillows were filled with low-quality, unsanitary stuffing, literally black cotton. There was visible mold and rot on the bathroom door, as shown in the pictures.

The staff were pleasant and very flexible, easy to reach via Whatsapp, and everything worked just lovely. ☀️

We loved spending time on the balcony, and we’d definitely return. It’s quiet and well located in the centro historico. The place is gorgeous, with tall ceilings, marble floors, and a crisp, clean white look. It’s fully furnished, including a dishwasher and washer, and has two bathrooms, quality bed linens, and comfortable beds. Wonderful place!
