The big air conditioning unit was the one good thing about the room. The rooms weren’t great and smelled bad, and the bathrooms smelled too. The bed looked old and dirty, and the host was kind of rude. One night here is more than enough. I mean, you get what you pay for.
Everything was as expected, and the place was really nice and very clean. The door code kept failing, though, so my sister and I had to call the host repeatedly to have it reset. They responded, but dealing with it got frustrating. Otherwise, it was a good stay.
For a short city trip, Malaka Rooms was clean, comfortable, and just what I needed. The bathroom was especially clean, which I appreciated, though the room could use more renovations. It worked well for a brief stay. You’re right in the center, close to restaurants, attractions, and public transport, so it’s a simple, convenient base for exploring the city.
The rooms are bare bones, and the shared bathroom and shower are old. Not worth the money.
As a woman traveling alone, I didn’t feel safe there at all. The atmosphere felt really strange, and there was no way to lock the room. I couldn’t stay the night and booked another hotel instead. I wouldn’t recommend it. One star only because zero isn’t an option.
