I ended up booking this place through Booking.com after a problem with another property, booked about three months earlier, meant it couldn’t host me just two days before departure. I booked this one two days before leaving. On departure day, the property asked when I’d arrive. My flight was due into Malaga at 11:30 PM, so I could have reached the hotel around midnight. Late check-in was available for a fee, but only on request and if there was availability. Since I’d booked so close to departure, I couldn’t have told them earlier. They said they couldn’t accommodate me and blamed me for not reading the instructions. Booking.com couldn’t help either, so rather than arrive in Malaga with nowhere to stay, I booked one night somewhere else. The property then said that if I didn’t arrive on the check-in date, Booking.com’s terms meant I’d be marked as a no-show, my reservation canceled, and no refund given. I called them to try to agree on a solution. I’d already paid, and letting me arrive the next day wouldn’t have cost them anything. Unacceptable behavior. Don’t give your money to these people.

At least it was clean. The place wasn’t cozy, with junk furniture and Smurf-blue floor tiles. The old building’s charm has been completely ruined. There was an incredibly lively atmosphere outside the house all night, which meant no ventilation was possible.

The building entrance was infested with cockroaches. As for the noise, I spent the worst four nights of my life because of it. I should’ve realized this was a party area, so choosing it was a bad decision on my part. I asked to switch rooms on the first day, but was told none were available and that the listing already warned about the noise. Did it warn about the cockroaches too? Regards.

We ended up with a really nice apartment, right in the center. Before the trip, all the bad reviews on Booking.com had us pretty upset, but everything turned out wonderfully. Maybe we were lucky with our room.
