The apartment itself was clean, well equipped, and only minutes from the historic center. The woman who helped us check in was kind, too. But the location and lack of security meant we couldn’t stay, so we left and lost any chance of a refund. On our first night, after a pleasant walk downtown, we came back to find a drug dealer sitting in the doorway with several clients. After dealing, he injected drugs. Around midnight he left, then came back the next morning to smoke crack. We told the property the night before, but it didn’t help. The street is notorious and downright dangerous, though nothing we saw had warned us of that. We documented what happened but aren’t attaching photos because it feels in bad taste. I’m reluctant to write this because I’m sure the people working on these rentals, from reception to cleaning, are competent and well trained. Still, I wanted to warn couples and families who might end up in the same situation.

We couldn’t find free parking easily, and we had no hot water at any point during the stay, even after the maintenance technician came by. The apartment itself was comfortable and not far from the historic center.

The apartment looked just like the photos, and it’s ideally placed for reaching the city center. At first the location may give you pause, but during our two nights it was quiet and we had no problems.

It’s a small place, really suited to two people, and only a few blocks from the city’s tourist sights. I was there in winter and never got hot water in the shower. There are more convenient, cheaper options nearby.
