Rural Montes Málaga: Finca Pedregales

We found it wonderfully peaceful, a beautiful place for a break, and the finca sits in the middle of Montes de Málaga Park, just under 10 km from Málaga. Getting there takes some nerve: the gravel road runs about 6 km from the motorway, with no barriers and drops of around 50 metres in places. The route is spectacular, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone afraid of heights or inexperienced behind the wheel. Once there, though, it was all relaxation. Bélane and her father were warm, kind, and accommodating, and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the outdoor area was pleasant, and the pool's counter-current system made the getaway even better. There were fans in every room, which helped make temperatures around 50°C bearable, and there's a washing machine too. A fantastic place to take a break. Thanks to Bélane and her dad.

The owners are attentive and pleasant, and the nights are something special for the silence and the sky. A fox comes by every night looking for food, and at dusk we could see wild boars from the house. Mosquitoes and horseflies come around too, but that's part of being out in nature. Surprisingly, Orange and Movistar both had some data coverage. The house is the last one on a forest road in a natural park in Malaga. It's rustic, very well kept, and clean, with a well-placed gazebo and a pool that's just right for cooling off. The unpaved road is easier with an SUV or four-wheel drive, though any car can make it. It takes about 20 minutes from the Malaga highway once you know the way. This is a place to unwind if you know what you're after. City dwellers should stay away.

A good place to switch off and relax. The access road is in poor shape at the moment, so low cars may struggle, though the climb itself is easy. A screen in the bathroom would be a useful improvement.

The setting was ideal and the cabin was just right. Really friendly, attentive staff made sure everything was in order. The surroundings are beautiful. Warm regards to the staff and the manager.
