Casa Las Torres

We were five people and only needed somewhere for two nights. The poor cleanliness was obvious everywhere: dusty plates and glasses that we had to wash first, no kitchen napkins, and not even a bathroom bin. The beds were uncomfortable, and the bath mat was dirty and trodden on. Each of us got just one towel, and they were in awful shape. We tried calling the hostess, but she neither answered nor called back, saying that was why her prices were so low.

The hostess was friendly and polite, and the house is in a handy spot with everything close by. The house itself is quite nice, but it needs upkeep and more care with the small things. There were loose tiles, old curtains that didn't work properly, and the patio needed cleaning and maintenance. Those are little fixes that would make a real difference. We also had to arrange and pay extra for firewood for the fireplace. We were told the delivery guy would meet us at 4:30 p.m., but he didn't show up until 7:00 p.m., and the sack didn't last a full day. It would help if guests were asked whether they plan to use the fireplace and the wood was ready when they arrive.

We really enjoyed the patio and pool, which you reach by a metal staircase. The house could have been cleaner, though. It's in a great spot on a quiet street with parking, the neighbors are very friendly, and the area around it is beautiful.

Apart from the trouble with our car, things were fine. Someone slashed a tire while it was parked next to the house, and we only noticed as we were setting off for the trip home. The tow truck and all the commotion left us with a bad feeling.
