It’s hard to believe a place this nice is tucked away in such a remote spot. Meira village is only a 600 meter walk, with some lovely bars, shops and restaurants, and the hosts couldn’t have been warmer. The nearly new room was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in, with amazing beds, linens, bathroom and furnishings. Don’t miss breakfast, either, with fresh pastry, jams, fruit and yogurt.

We stayed four days, and the secluded setting made it wonderfully quiet and restful. The facilities were fine, and breakfast was good. Our room was large, with a comfortable bed and spacious bathroom, though the shelf beneath the sink was dusty. I set a few things there and found a ring of dust around them when we left on the last day. The shower was slippery, so a non-slip mat would help. It was also the only room without air conditioning. On our first day it was unbearably hot, 28 degrees Celsius, and they brought us a fan. Apparently the curtains had been left open after cleaning, so the sun came straight in. We also had trouble with the fireplace. It was lit in the morning, and smoke came into the room and bathroom, even with the window open while we had breakfast. The smell was awful, and our clothes ended up smelling of smoke. They offered to move us and do our laundry, but we were exhausted after being out all day and changing rooms at that hour didn’t seem practical. They should fix it, because coming back to a room that smells of smoke is unpleasant.

We’ve been back for a second stay and will return whenever we’re nearby. The hotel has a lot of charm, is very well cared for, and the rooms are lovely. Service is professional while still feeling friendly. Everything was perfect, and it’s well worth a visit.

We’ll be back. It’s a quiet rural place to get away from the daily grind, with clean, well-equipped rooms that mix rustic and modern style beautifully. There’s a spacious dining room, and the service is the best part: really exceptional.
