You can walk to anywhere you want within about 10 minutes, and the apartment has spacious rooms, a small kitchenette, a large living area, a decent bathroom, and a comfortable bed. From the bedroom balcony, the Temple of Diana is in full view. But the noise made for a sleepless night. People were yelling, talking, laughing, drinking, and dancing right under the window until 3:30am, then the garbage truck came through and we heard everything. Around 6am, locals were getting up for work. They need to invest in soundproof windows to block more noise, or provide earplugs.

The location is exceptional, though you pay a pretty penny for it. The apartment felt neglected and was poorly furnished. There was no wardrobe, just a curtain rod with four hooks that barely fit anything, stools instead of chairs, and too little cutlery, apparently repurposed from Grandma's silverware.

I paid €95 for a tiny, dirty room, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend this place. I'd rented an apartment with a balcony, but what I got had only three tiny windows and was nothing like what I'd paid for. When I explained the problem, the woman got angry and rudely told me to complain to Booking.com, cancel the reservation, and go to a hotel. Very poor customer service. Booking.com confirms that I booked the apartment with a balcony.

We stayed in 2.Trece, right across from the Temple of Diana, and the views were unbeatable. It's in the heart of Mérida, within easy reach of all the monuments. The apartment was spacious and clean, and despite being in a pedestrian area, it was very quiet. The only downside was having no blinds. Highly recommended.
