Old England House

The house itself is the real surprise: it’s far more impressive in person than the pictures suggest. Dating from 1882, it has all the comforts of a modern home, from a fully equipped kitchen and games room to a cinema room and themed bedrooms. We stayed in the Maharaja room, inspired by the palaces of British colonial India, and loved it. It has its own bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The Moulin Room draws on late 19th-century Parisian bedrooms, the Opera Room on late 19th-century Italian operas, and Fly Me to the Room on late 20th-century aviation pioneers. There’s also a sauna and spa room inspired by the Titanic. Alberto was available by phone to answer questions and sort out any issues. He wasn’t there when we arrived, but Esther (if I remember correctly) welcomed us and showed us around. The service was attentive from the time we contacted Alberto about using a Wonderbox gift card. It’s a fantastic place to disconnect, and I’d definitely recommend it for a getaway in Huelva. We were delighted with the experience and will be back.

We booked with a Wonderbox gift card, and having to arrange everything by email was a bit of a hassle. We didn’t meet Alberto in person, but he was friendly and answered our questions by phone. Esther kindly told us the old English house was nearly 140 years old. It’s enormous and very cool, with a luxurious spa. The patio and garden seemed a little neglected, and there was some dampness here and there, but the house is still dreamy. Staying there is a special way to connect with the town’s history. I recommend it.

We chose the house for a private celebration and were absolutely delighted. The owner and the woman who works there were both so attentive, with personal service throughout. It’s enormous, with an English kitchen that’s fully equipped, dining room, games room, comfortable living room, heating throughout, solarium, a lovely garden, and a cinema room with vintage seats. The Titanic-themed spa has a sauna and jacuzzi. The themed rooms are wonderful too. Ours was inspired by India and had its own bathroom with a whirlpool tub and TV. An incredible experience, wholeheartedly recommended. We’ll be back! 😁

We stayed for one night as a couple in this classic old English house, which has been adapted for holiday stays. Some things are broken and need repairs. The garden should be kept up like a proper English garden, and the police record should be done on a mobile phone.
