The rooms were clean and affordable, but the shower overflowed, there was no toilet paper in the mornings, and the stove had no gas. The advertising was faulty too, since there are no bikes to rent and no transfer pick-up service.
It's a shame Friends Hostel is in the more touristy part of the island, since we would have stayed longer if we hadn't been drawn back north. Still, it's a charming place to stay in this area, with a fantastic, homely atmosphere where you feel undisturbed. Thanks, Jasmine & José! The kitchen is fully usable and has everything you need. You can do laundry and hang clothes outside to dry. There are two bathrooms, both clean and very well maintained. The little ants in the kitchen can be dealt with by sealing and putting food away carefully from the start. Friends Hostel is a real gem, a place that makes you want to linger.
The garden really makes this place. It’s a gorgeous house, kept clean, with a kitchen that has everything stocked up. The atmosphere is so relaxed, and the staff are excellent. A lovely spot for a stress-free getaway.
