The free bus to Puerto de Mogan and the beach was a real bonus. We only went to Puerto de Mogan once, for the market on our last day, and wished we’d gone sooner. It’s gorgeous. An afternoon bus back would have let us stay longer. The beach bar had all-inclusive food and drinks plus toilets, so we could comfortably spend the whole day there. We had a great week at the Mogan Princess. Our room was comfortable, with a lovely sea view for watching sunsets, and the hotel had a relaxed feel. Being able to help yourself to drinks at several spots through the day was handy, with no queues or glass tokens. There were lots of sun loungers, too. The main pool was heated, so we kept dipping in to cool off; the adult pool was cooler but still fine for swimming. The food was good, with plenty of choice and no repetition. We hired a car at reception for a day and had a great time exploring the mountains. The entertainment wasn’t quite our thing, as we prefer live music to dancing and shows. We’ve heard the hotel is closing for refurbishment in September. We’d love to come back and hope prices don’t go up.
We visited in January 2026, and the weather was lovely at 21-22°. The staff were friendly and keen to help, and the hotel itself is a quiet, lovely place with great views of Puerto Mogan. All the rooms have sea views, and the sunset bar and terrace were a great spot for a drink while watching the sun go down. We enjoyed the food, too, with delicious menus that changed theme. We were in the fourth building, which meant several flights of stairs, or taking three lifts and then stairs. There was no water in the room, and since water was only available by the glass, we bought a large bottle at a local shop to keep there. Some cocktails were included, but our usual choices, Bloody Marys and Mojitos, cost €5.90.
For a hotel claiming four stars, the condition was pretty poor. It felt very old: the floors were loose and squeaky, doors too, and the lifts malfunctioned every day and sometimes got stuck. Wi-Fi only worked in the lobby and lower floors. Getting around was awkward. The hotel sits on a cliff, and shops, bars and the sea are 1.5 km downhill. There are buses, but they weren’t reliable. Taurito has a beach and lots of expensive tourist shops, but nothing we thought was worth visiting. For a mall or other entertainment, you need a car. Reception staff were always smiling, but when I raised the issues below, they didn’t solve a single one. Room service didn’t replace the sheets, just remade the bed with the dirty ones, and they rarely cleaned the floor or bathroom properly. Cash was taken from a drawer, €50. The food was often overcooked, undercooked, or cooked at the wrong temperature. I had a lot of stomach problems, and everything was unseasoned. It was hard to believe they could get even fries, noodles and plain potatoes so wrong. At meals, guests were seated even though the dining room was big enough, which made things take much longer. Staff shouted across tables to communicate, so the eating area was very noisy. When I complained, I kept hearing, “We renovate in half a year and probably fix the issue!” How does that help me now? If you know a renovation is needed, how can you justify the prices and stars? Service was bad throughout, with no interest in changing anything. Go somewhere else.
The bus link to the port and beach was great, and I’d stay here again. This was my first holiday outside the UK and I loved it. We arrived on a late flight and checked in around 9 pm, after some other guests. Sara was accommodating, explained everything clearly and gave us a map that made finding our room easy. The view from the room was stunning. We didn’t have any real trouble with the lifts. If one was out of service, it got fixed quickly and didn’t disrupt us. The staff around the complex were always smiling and greeting people. The bar staff were fantastic, especially Tattiana, David and Wilbur, who mostly worked at the sunset bar while we were there. Cleaning seemed to be happening constantly. Our room was cleaned and the bed made every day without us asking. The restaurant served different food each day, so there was variety, and even though I’m extremely fussy, I could always find something I liked. A special mention to the man at reception with the fabulous moustache. I didn’t get his name, but he was really helpful arranging taxis for us.
Our first evening was fine. A very friendly young man checked us in, though unfortunately I can’t remember his name. We were put in room 6301C on the top floor, with a beautiful view. The quality and value for money seemed fine. From the second day, stomach problems, possibly food poisoning, made the holiday unpleasant. We can’t say where we caught it, and my husband became ill first, then I did. Even though we were all-inclusive, we stopped using the restaurant for lunch and dinner from that day because we’d lost our appetite for the food. Then, on January 14th, between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m., cash was taken from my wallet in our room while we were at breakfast. We believe it was the cleaning staff. The amount was 55 euros. That was absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. Please be careful during your stay. This should never happen. We don’t recommend the hotel and will definitely never return. A terrible experience.
