The roof terrace was a lovely extra. We ate up there on a couple of evenings and spent an afternoon there too. We stayed five nights in an apartment that was a decent size and had everything we needed. The location is fantastic, and check-in and checkout were very simple. One morning the hot-water boiler had a serious problem, so I called reception as soon as they opened at 9am. Someone arrived within 10 minutes and fixed it within an hour. These things happen sometimes, nobody’s fault, and they dealt with it right away without any fuss. I’d definitely stay again and try for an apartment with a harbour view next time.

The apartments were faultless, and ours was beautifully furnished, with two bedrooms, a Juliet balcony and a rooftop terrace in a great spot. We only stayed three nights and already want to come back for longer. One heads-up from my otherwise very positive stay: the first boutique along the shops on the way to the marina had no prices displayed. I bought a dress after the assistant said it usually cost 29 euros and offered it for 25. Later I saw the same dress in another shop farther down town for 15 euros, and at the Friday market for 12. When I told the market seller, he said I’d been ripped off. I wish I knew the shop’s name; my bank transaction just says “bazaar.”

We stayed in apartment 327, close to reception, with a rooftop terrace above it. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a self-catering break: microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, washing machine and all the usual comforts. The reception and cleaning teams were friendly and professional, and nothing seemed too much trouble.

We loved the pool, which was wonderfully warm and a daily hit with the kids. The apartments are in a magical, one-of-a-kind location, and the Irish family who run the business were so helpful. Highly recommend.

The apartments themselves are okay. We booked mainly for the two lovely rooftop jacuzzis, but the water was too cool for us to enjoy, around 18 and 26 degrees. We asked several times, but management either couldn't or wouldn't turn up the heat.
