The shower was good, but the place felt run-down. We paid €55 a night, which seemed like too much for what we got, though it was the cheapest option in the area. It was hard to get a decent night's sleep. The toilet had a problem and the tank refilled with a loud noise every twenty minutes or so, especially disruptive at night. The mattress left our backs sore, and the single long pillow for two was thin and awful. The sheet kept slipping off because it was a flat sheet rather than a fitted one, and even the chairs were uncomfortable.

The staff were friendly, but the rooms made this a poor stay for me. We booked two for my family, and I’d avoid this hotel on a future road trip. One room smelled of urine, and the sheets in it still had a tobacco smell. In the other, there was nowhere to hang the shower head, and the drain was clogged. As the water rose, some kind of dirty foam floated up. There was shower gel but no shampoo, and only a tiny amount of gel, with each little pack too small for one person to wash with. On our trip through France, Spain and Portugal, we stayed in places that were much better for almost half what we paid here.

The grounds were lovely, though the room was just okay. We stayed one night in mid June, and the swimming pool wasn’t in use then.

Lovely staff, a wonderful swimming pool, and a great family friendly spot. It works well for camping or motelling. Highly recommended.
