Hotel Castillo de Monda

Juan, our waiter, took especially good care of us and served everything with such energy. The staff across all the different areas were wonderful. Great place, we'd definitely go back.

I didn't stay here, but the location is amazing, especially if you like the sea. The Dutch owners seem well intentioned, and I'm intrigued enough to come back. The restaurant has an amazing 360 view, so sunset dinner there is worth a try. That day had a bit of a "Faulty Towers does Spain" feel. There was no one at the bar for 10-15min, signs gave different opening hours for different rooms and areas, and cleaning staff were around but there were no waiters taking orders. About 10 Swedish people and another group were waiting, along with my dog and me. It took close to 20min before I could even speak to anyone. The outside stations didn't seem to be looked after, and it wasn't clear whether to order at the bar or at the tables. Maybe we arrived in a rush, or between breakfast and lunch. I wasn't in a hurry, and having worked in hospitality for years, I just wanted to mention it. I did see Emanuel on a ladder doing electrical work. The view was lovely, and I'll be back for more. Hopefully the cute Dutch girl at the bar will still be there.

The hotel has a really unique atmosphere, with clean, beautiful rooms and very good food. The whole staff are always cheerful and nice. The room and food prices also seem pretty cheap for the quality.

The restaurant was a real highlight, with spectacular food that was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Our spacious, comfortable basic comfort room was more than enough for a pleasant stay, and the four-poster bed was a nice touch. The hotel sits high up, with breathtaking sunset views across the area. It's easy to get to everything while still feeling peaceful and removed. We found ourselves sitting and soaking in the view each evening. Laura, Sharon, Matthew, Juan, and the whole team made us feel welcome and looked after from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and professionalism made a real difference. Absolutely incredible stay. We'll be back, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
