Apartamento Lemavos

We loved the river view from the back of the apartment, and its location is very convenient, close to central Monforte, small shops, and a breakfast place just across the street. We found parking nearby, and there seemed to be garage spaces too, though we didn’t use them. The owner was attentive and friendly, leaving bread and the day’s newspaper. There were also cookies, tea, coffee, sweets, and water and milk in the fridge. The kitchen had all the appliances we could need, big and small, plus a shopping cart. There was a hairdryer and plenty of towels in the bathrooms. The owner has also put together little booklets about places to visit nearby and around Galicia. The apartment was clean and well kept inside, with good quality furniture that isn’t modern. The building exterior is somewhat run-down and not very attractive. It’s a spacious first-floor apartment, and the elevator made access easier for people with reduced mobility. Our wheelchair couldn’t fit through the bathroom doors, though. The pillows were very high and not individual; lower ones and fewer cushions would have been better. The interior felt a bit too ostentatious for us, and with no air conditioning, we would have preferred fans over some of the decorations. It was quite hot, and we couldn’t leave the street-facing window open at night because of the noise outside.

Antonio and Mayka were the highlight. They’re genuine, professional, and incredibly helpful, with loads of suggestions for enjoying Monforte and the Ribeira Sacra. Their advice was spot on, and the Galician bread they gave us was a real treat. They took care of breakfast, too, so we didn’t need to look for it. The apartment feels like your own holiday home, so well maintained and set up to make you comfortable. It has everything you could need and more. There were just two of us, though it can sleep eight more, and the whole apartment is yours. A garage for two large cars is included in the price. It’s a two-minute walk from the tourist area, and the value for money is excellent. We’d love to return to the Ribeira Sacra and stay with them again. You don’t usually find this level of service in this kind of accommodation. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back.

Really spacious and well looked after, in a fantastic, quiet spot. The river, shops, banks, and bars are all close by.

The views take in the castle, the Cabe River, and the Escolapios school. It’s a spacious apartment in a perfect location for seeing Monforte. I’ll be back.
