Camping La Puerta

The plot we had was a little small, but the campsite was very clean and the bar prices were quite reasonable. There's a lovely walk just outside the campsite. We stayed in July and would visit again. Thank you 😊

A lovely back-to-nature campsite, with the river running right through it.

The restaurant and bar were good value, had long opening hours, and served Mediterranean dishes. The squid and starters were delicious, though I wouldn't recommend the paella. The supermarket wasn't always open, but the shower and bathroom facilities were plentiful and clean. The pool is still a good size, but we saw poo in it. When we alerted the lifeguard, he just removed it. In public facilities, the usual response should be to close the pool and disinfect it, with at least a day of water cleaning. We'd been here years ago and remembered a stunning, quiet, comfortable place. Twenty years later, the facilities seem unchanged, but the river nearby isn't as clean and the site is no longer peaceful. Some campers partied late into the night, with music until 3 and talking until 5. That's unacceptable, so we left the next day.

There are lots of pools to cool down in, and you can get to them through the campsite for €2 per person, which includes access to the bar. The river and pools are also reachable from the dirt track beside the car park, on its left. A nice place to spend a few hours.
