Albergue Navares

I’ve celebrated several friends’ birthdays here over the past few years, and it’s been great. The lounge is really comfortable, and the spacious activity room doubles as a dining room, though there’s also another dining area off the kitchen. The place is all wood and looks beautiful. The showers work well, and the bunks are comfortable, even the top ones with bedside tables. Rooms sleep 8. One thing I’d change: add a bathroom by the kitchen and lounge. There isn’t one upstairs near the bedrooms, so you have to go up whenever you need it.

My 12-year-old daughter was there this week, and the pool was empty. There was no electricity, so the children had to use flashlights, and they were showering in cold water. The counselors’ cabin was lovely and had its own generator. I’m giving it 1 star because I can’t give it 0.

My son went with the Institute in the summer. He said the counselors were very strict, and the activities were boring and didn’t meet expectations. The rooms and showers were cold and old, and the food was bad. They only ate salad and potatoes.

The place and activities were very poor. My son didn’t enjoy the experience much, and the counselors weren’t organized well and treated some of the children badly.
