The Sierra de Gredos is visible from the terrace, and the area is wonderfully quiet. We had a very relaxing weekend in a house that suits couples or families with children. Our dog loved running around in the large garden, and pets are welcome. The living room has a fireplace, with heating throughout, and there’s an outdoor barbecue. There’s also a butcher nearby selling excellent Ávila T-bone steaks. We’d happily recommend it.

We’ll definitely come back. The village is lovely, with all the amenities, and the natural surroundings are beautiful. The house was excellent value for the price and had everything we needed, including three spacious, well-kept bedrooms and a comfortable porch. We didn’t feel we were missing a thing.

This was a disappointment, especially for the price, which is comparable to other places. There’s visible damage that hasn’t been repaired, the TV remote is broken, and nails stick up from the floor in one room. Cleanliness is neglected. It isn’t a total pigsty, but it falls short of what I’d expect from rural accommodation. The shower screen handles are missing too. The house needs improvements for families with children, including an exterior railing, which wouldn’t be expensive. The sofas are old, and both they and the chair covers are stained.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The bed was comfortable and there’s Wi-Fi throughout the house, but the rest was very dirty and dusty, with dated fixtures and many broken things. The old sofa was unpleasant to sit on, and the walls were stained and unclean. There’s no fence around the porch, so the height difference makes it dangerous for children. The garden and cleaning were basically nonexistent.
