The location was handy for walking into Pozo de Los Frailes, and there's a path you can use if you ask for the padlock code. You can also walk to San José in an easy 45 minutes on a separate track beside the road. For a dog walk, we liked parking at the windmill before San Genovese beach and taking the country track down to the beach. Our favorite breakfast place was Café Andrea in San José, and we liked Indian Satyaraj in Pozo de Los Frailes for dinner. We were in a small one-bed studio in March. Laura, the onsite manager, was friendly and quick to help. She replaced the saucepan and brought us a frying pan right away, and when we reported that the TV wasn't working, she got us a new cable and fixed it immediately. If something isn't right, ask and it will be sorted. The kitchen was sparsely stocked. I'm sure scissors, a bread knife, and a spatula would have been provided if we'd asked, but those seem like basic things to have. There was just one lightweight quilt. The aircon heating worked fine, though we would have appreciated another blanket. We understand that an unused place can get damp over winter, but the overpowering bleach smell during our first three days made us both feel sick on the first night, with nausea and sore throats. If bleach has to be used to wipe mold off the walls, it needs enough time for the fumes to clear before guests arrive.
