We’ve stayed here twice this year and will definitely return. The hotel is comfortable and welcoming, with exceptional staff who are happy to help with anything, and the restaurant is really good too. It’s a real gem in a beautiful country setting, despite being very close to the motorway and a massive lorry park.

I haven’t stayed overnight at the hotel, but I’ve stopped for lunch a few times. The food and service are awesome. I especially recommend it to people from the U.K. and Germany who want to taste proper food!

The rooms are spacious, and the property is tucked away somewhere peaceful. A nice change from staying in town, with excellent food and hospitality.

The food is very Basque, and the servings are huge, so come prepared. We enjoyed a very nice local white wine with our choices. Menus are available in English and French, with some interesting translations from the original Spanish. This is a lovely, homely hotel in the hills, about a 20 minute drive from San Sebastian. The road there is very narrow concrete, not asphalt, so be ready for an unexpected turn off the main road. Well worth staying at least 2 nights.

What really made our stay memorable was the staff. Itzal (hopefully i got that right) was friendly and courteous, and seemed to do everything at the property. We also had a great dinner at the restaurant, and breakfast was included and very good, with lots of fruit, pastries, fresh juice and bread, plus eggs, omelettes or bacon made to order. The location was great too, with a short drive to San Sebastien and other towns. We had a really enjoyable stay.
