Yolanda, who checked us in, was friendly and very helpful, and the location was great. Our room was okay, but room 301 had NO VIEW and barely a window in the low, slanted ceiling. The hallway smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The air conditioning worked at check-in, then failed at night when we needed it. We let it run for 2 hours and it still hadn’t cooled the room, so we went to the front desk. The man flipped a switch and it got somewhat better, but the room still wasn’t cold. Not good for American travelers! At 12:17 the next day, someone knocked and said checkout was at noon and “you pay more”. The checkout lady was terrible, rude, and unhelpful. She charged us 10€ for leaving 30 minutes late on a 65€ room. That seemed excessive, there was no policy posted, and they didn’t make any accommodation for the lack of air conditioning.

I booked a room for early Oct 2019 and had no idea the hostel would be completely unmanned after 10pm. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere on the hotel booking sites. When we got to the door at 11pm, nobody answered the bell. I called their hotline, and the woman who answered wasn’t hostel staff. She only said the hostel was closed and nobody could help. The next morning, the hostel canceled my booking as a “no show” and then charged the full room rate. Be aware that if you’re thinking of staying here, you’re on your own if something goes wrong after 10pm, including a problem with your room. Make sure you arrive to check in before 10pm, or your booking becomes invalid.

The room was nice and clean, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really nice too. In late June, the air conditioning in room 302 didn’t work very well during the day, and I had to sleep in a hot, stuffy room.

Really nice staff, and the rooms were clean, quiet, and nice. An excellent hostel. I’d definitely stay here again!
