The best things were the central location and the authentic decor, though the place was badly maintained and everything looked close to falling apart. We paid 90€ a night expecting a very different stay in a small village like Olmedo. Our suite had a jacuzzi, but it was an old model from the 80s that hadn't worked for a long time. The taps weren't even connected, and nobody mentioned that when we booked. There wasn't any shampoo, conditioner, or even a glass for water. The room hadn't been cleaned well, with dust in places, and its window was right above a small BBQ. At times the smoke smell filled the room. Breakfast was a joke: a few white toast slices and butter, with no eggs, vegetables, jam, fruit, or anything else. You can't call that breakfast.

The owner and manager were friendly whenever we spoke with them, and you can tell they're working hard to improve the place, though there's plenty left to do. It's an old, historic posada in Olmedo, with real charm and lots of potential. Go expecting something old rather than new and beautiful. Our rooms were spacious, the bathrooms had been recently redone and were in fairly good shape, and the grounds looked nice, though we didn't use them in the middle of winter. The location is quiet and a short walk from the town center. We were there in December and it was cold. Wood burning fireplaces heated the rooms during the day, then radiators came on around 9 p.m. for the rest of the night. The walls were extremely thin. Each morning I could hear every detail of the neighbor's toilet and morning routine. Breakfast was pretty bare: fresh coffee, toast, and a couple of muffins. I know Spanish breakfasts are minimal, but even my Spanish wife thought it was lacking. If you can, ask to see the chapel. It's small but spectacular.

There's a lot of potential here, but the place is run down and some things need repair. Breakfast was sparse, just muffins and rusks, and there's no restaurant or bar. We stayed one night and nearly left. We won't return and wouldn't recommend it. Best regards.

Marcial was wonderfully hospitable. We stayed one night while heading up to Galicia and felt so comfortable that we came back on the way down. The place has a lot of charm, and being in such an old village makes the passage of time feel even more beautiful. We're grateful to the manager for looking after us and will certainly stay here again.
