Hostal Restaurante La Muralla

I could keep my bicycle there without worrying about it being stolen, and the place covered what I needed. The price was a little high for my plans, though there wasn't much else around. I found out later there's a public hostel in town, but by then I'd already booked. My bed was comfortable, and the blankets kept me warm. The room itself was fine, but I found towels with the "Paracuellos Spa" logo a tacky touch. I suppose the owner is the same. The bigger issue was the noise: my room faced the main road through Oña, where cars pass quickly and there was far more traffic than I'd expected. It was infernal, almost as if the window were open. I imagine rooms facing inward wouldn't have that problem.

The meal was disappointing for the price, and there was no explanation for the change in setup. We had called the number on the La Muralla restaurant website to book, but on arrival a sign sent us to the restaurant next door, El Cazador. They seated us on its so-called "terrace," which was really a garage with plastic tables and chairs, nothing like the photos on La Muralla's site. We paid the same price, despite the lower quality-to-price ratio of the food. A terrible experience, and we won't be back.

I'm reviewing the restaurant, not the hostel. The service was fine, but the €26 set menu was extremely expensive for what you got. The food quality was questionable, with little preparation, and just barely adequate.
