Casa Rural Etxegorri

La habitación Itzina (o Itxina) was spacious and comfortable, with a balcony facing west. On really hot days, you have to wait until later to enjoy the balcony, but the evenings there are very peaceful. It’s just as quiet elsewhere near the house. I stayed five days in this rural house in Urigoiti, a small village. The setting is wonderful, with the Itxina massif in Gorbeia Natural Park right behind it. Everything was very calm. The owners, Laura and Sonia, were kind and helpful, gave information about walking routes and places to visit, and made very substantial breakfasts. I was very happy with my stay.

The bed was far too hard and uncomfortable, and I actually like a firm mattress. That’s why I’m giving four stars. The house was spacious and well cared for, the staff were very friendly, and breakfast was delicious and natural.

It’s a great place to visit, peaceful and with lovely views. Also, breakfast was really good.

The two women running the place were so friendly and suggested routes and places to see in the spectacular surrounding area. The renovated house still has its original feel, and the rooms are comfortable, with lovely terraces and beautiful views. It’s in a tiny town where you’ll feel like disappearing for a few days. A wonderful experience.
