We stayed here after our Camino, a two-minute walk from the main square. The place was very comfortable, with a good shower and kitchen.

While walking the Camino, my partner and I stayed in this apartment in Padrón and loved it. There was plenty of room, and it felt private from outside, which was quiet anyway. We had a comfortable king-size bed, a well-equipped kitchen and a modern, renovated bathroom. One of the best places we stayed on the whole trip.

The glass frontage is the main problem. This is a former commercial space turned into an apartment, and the old shop window is all that separates you from the street. Conversations from the corner bar’s terrace carried on until 1 a.m., and after that people lingered right outside the door. You could hear the neighbors entering too, and it sounded like they were trying to open our door. At this time of year, it was crazy and impossible to rest before a 30km stage. Maybe winter is quieter when fewer people are out, but I can’t say. It’s modern and nice, but I don’t think it works as a room or apartment for pilgrims. For couples out partying, it might be a different story.

It looks modern and nice when you walk in, but we couldn’t sleep before continuing our journey. The bed is right beside a thin glass wall facing the street, so outside noise feels as if it’s happening in the room. It’s a commercial space converted into a home, and that setup doesn’t make for a restful stay.
