Hotel Garbí

We had a lovely large room with a balcony facing the sea, and the breakfast selection was wonderful. Karin on the restaurant staff deserves a special thank you, as does the team for providing a handicap parking space. One thing that needs attention is the jacuzzi bathtub in our room. Although the room seemed set up for a handicapped person, getting in and out of that tub was very difficult, and it should be replaced with a walk-in shower. Thanks to everyone for a great holiday.

The breakfast had everything we needed, from fruit, coffee, pastries, salmon, and charcuterie to fresh juice, and we could eat outside. The staff were very friendly too. The hotel sits in a beautiful spot on a hill, surrounded by nature, with the village center nearby and the beach about a seven-minute walk away. Our huge balcony looked out over the bay and was perfect for reading early in the morning. We didn't get a chance to use the pool, which I wish we'd had more time for. I loved the hotel and its facilities, and I'd come back next time I'm in Spain.

Breakfast was included and good, and having coffee and buffet selections under the pines was lovely and quiet. Our top-floor room had the biggest hotel balcony I've ever seen, with wide views across Calella de Palafrugell and down to the sea. The bed was too hard for us, though the simple, functional room had very effective A/C for days over 30 degrees. The pool was lovely and quiet during our mid-June visit, though I imagine it gets busy in season. The in-room WiFi didn't work, but 4G was strong, and WiFi was fine by the restaurant and pool. This family-run place is up above town, so the views are hard to beat. It's not state of the art, which I actually liked, but it was spotless, relaxed, and staffed by attentive, polite people. It was also pretty quiet during our four-night stay. The hill means a workout every day, and it's not ideal for anyone with mobility difficulties, whether getting up from town or reaching the breakfast room and pool from the top floor. We thought it was good value and would consider coming back. Calella de Palafrugell is beautiful for a short or longer break.

It was a very relaxing place to stay, and we enjoyed the pool table, which was nicely equipped. The beach is an easy walk downhill, though the climb back is steep.
