Hostel O Castelo

The room was very clean, and the beds were comfortable, with extra blankets in the closet. The bathroom was tiny, but seemed relatively new. The shower was a decent size with a glass door, everything worked, and it was all very clean. The shared full kitchen down the hall was clean too, with a sitting area and tables nearby. Laundry cost 8 euros, and there was a clothesline. The lady who welcomed us was polite and helpful, and check-in was prompt. I can't complain about anything here and would stay again.

During my four weeks on the Camino, this was the worst place I stayed. The interior room window faced the building's inner vent chamber. Loose-fitting plastic panels covered the top, banging loudly and echoing all day and night in the wind. The room smelled of toilet fumes, and a bright green light above the door shone all night, maybe an emergency exit light. The charming glass sunroom at the end of the hall was locked and off-limits. Horrible!

After walking 25 km on the Camino de Santiago, this was just what I needed for the night. The double room had a private bathroom, beautiful light, and very comfortable beds. It was clean, and the room, bathroom, location and service were all great. The price was quite good for two of us. The owner was kind and helpful, recommending places to see and eat. I'd recommend it!

Our most comfortable and clean stay so far. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous.
