Hotel Amic Colón

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the soap and shampoo were the cheap kind you find in bars and clubs. The window is flimsy, so there’s no sound insulation from the street and it gets very noisy. The air conditioning hadn’t been cleaned, smelled of moss and fungus, and didn’t even cool the room. Avoid.

When we got there, check-in took almost two hours. Our room was already paid for, but they still tried to charge us again. They gave us just one key, with the receptionist promising another later, who knows when. We’d booked a family room and got a small, very old room that didn’t match what we’d paid for. Worst experience I’ve ever had. Please don’t book this hotel.

It’s clean and comfortable, and the staff do their best to help. I’m puzzled that people leave such low reviews. Sure, this isn’t a glamorous 5-star place with a spa, pool and sea views, but that’s not what it claims to be or what you’re paying for. It’s a clean, comfortable hotel in Palma, no more and no less.

We stayed last night, and it was terrible. The room was extremely dirty, with stains all over the walls. There were several hairs on the bed, and even a maggot in it. When we asked to change rooms, the receptionist said none were available, which would have been understandable, but then insisted this couldn’t be true because they clean every day. He was extraordinarily rude and threatened to cancel our stay if we didn’t behave. The room wasn’t as large as the photos suggested, either. The location is kind of okay, but there are far too many downsides for that small plus.
